ESPADRILLES PEPI'S

We are a company dedicated to the sector of the footwear, specializing in the manufacture and sale of rubber-soled slippers (Espadrilles) of jute. The designs are fun, modern and with many different colours, always searching for style, innovation, comfort, trend and exclusivity.
Our rubber-soled slippers are designed for this purpose. They are made for people with a sense of humour, who are pratical, opened minded, and who like to take risks. Those who steer clear of convention and like to follow trends. The materials are soft and of maximum quality. The combination of colours and customisations are fun, modern, and always unique.
They are all handmade products finished with maximum attention to detail to offer the optimal quality to our clients.

ESPADRILLES

Espadrilles are a type of canvas footwear with an esparto or hemp(canvas)sole, designed for simple adjustment. They are principally worn in Spain, France and several zones of Latin America. Their origin seems to be from the Pyrennées. They have been around since1322, and are mentioned in a document written in Catalan which talks about "rubber-soled slippers". They are part of the typical dress in the majority of Spain, especially in the territories of the former Crown of Aragon (Aragon, Catalonia, Valencia and Balearic Islands) as well as the Region of Murcia, Almeria and in the cultural Basque area (Basque Country, Navarre and French Basque Country).
They are also traditional in Occitaine (south west region of France), where they have a large production center in Mauleón. In Spain they are also worn as working urban footwear and were worn by soldiers. They are currently worn as informal footwear in the warmest months.
There re a large variety of espadrilles, fundamentally divided into two different groups; those with ribbons and those without. The alfa sole can often be seen completely or partially covered with a fine rubber layer, to protect them from humidity and wear and tear.
